Lost footage of "Metropolis" surfaces in Argentina
It's not to often new footage is found of classic films. Makes you wonder what else might still be out there in the dark corner of a film archive somewhere.

slump
Does anyone else go through slumps with movie watching? While there's no shortage of movies I'm interested in seeing, I'm short on funds for rentals and trips to the theatre right now, but I can always watch something through ON DEMAND, for which I always seem to have coupons. Every time I go look at their list, however, I can't ever see anything on it I really want to invest the time in, and they have at least a couple of Oscar winners which I still desperately need/want to see, including There Will Be Blood and Atonement.

I dunno - it's like I'm in a slump. The only movies I have had much interest in seeing are more "comfort movies" than anything else, and the On Demand library hasa different inventory than I in terms of older fare to watch watch endlessly. (Harry&the Hendersons, really? That's in enough demand you can actually get 4 bucks for it 20 years later? Scary.) And I just can't watch movies oncable anymore - cuttingfor commercials is bad enough, but the moronic need to censor for language kills me - it's basic goddamn cable! Theres no FCC! Run the fuckin' words, already!

Hancock!
Saw Hancock. Not what I expected from the previews. Loved the back story. I thought it was a good mix of Comedy and serious moments. 9/10.

BTW, I love the fact I get to see any movie I want for free, for a year (until June of 2009).

Review: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - It would have been asking too much to expect this film to recapture the magic of Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) or the B-movie thrills of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), but it gives it a good try and manages to at least achieve a similar level of entertainment value as Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), which it resembles both in theme and tone.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is an entertaining and affectionate production with nods toward all three of the previous films and television's The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. It works as a nostalgic two hours spent with an old friend who's a little past his prime but still has one last hurrah left in him. Thanks for four entertaining films, Indy!

Wall-E is like a movie for every kid. And adults. Well some. The Spiderwick Chronicles, not so much. More suspense and scariness to it. I mean for children at the least.

Wall-E
I'm actually shocked I because I lasted through a movie where the main characters didn't talk. But the people did. So it wasn't that bad. But overall, I thought the movie was great. Best word to describe it I would say is cute. Definitely. Wall-E and Eva are THE cutest. Especially when they said each others names and held hands. Adorable! ;D (Note: I was going to post my thoughts on this movie like the day I saw it but I decided to wait until I saw The Spiderwick Chronicles.)

MOVING ON.

The Spiderwick Chronicles
It was pretty good. I didn't think it was going to be like it was but I'm quite satisfied. I liked the parts where they were fighting the Goblins the best and I thought it was sweet at the end how Lucy reunited with her father. The fantasy creatures were beautiful (those flying flower things), freaky (the goblins and that other big creature), and weird (the little guy that helps them along the way and that hog pig thing). The cover is... fantasical. Not a real word but oh well. I also noticed that there was quite a bit suspense music in there. Like at the fighting scenes. Lol. But overall, it was... once again... fantastical.

(Oh and I saw You Don't Mess with the Zohan quite awhile ago and I hated it. Perverted and stupid and not funny to me at all. Waste of money.)
